Wonders Pty Ltd recommends, sells and installs only Brivis Evaporative Cooling systems. Brivis have an established history of producing reliable units and consequently have been one of the leading brands in this industry for a number of years. During our history we have installed and serviced nearly all brands of evaporative cooling systems available and have found Brivis to be the most reliable.

Brivis have 3 models in their range; one traditional square type and two which have a sloped angled base which sits lower on the roof.

These models are called the 'Advanced', the 'Profiler' and the 'Contour'. No difference in cooling temperature exists between models as the measured temperature drop is always according to the outside weather conditions. What differentiates models (and brands) is their reliability, water consumption, their 'look' and of course the price. Evaporative coolers are an 'open type' system which means that the air in the house is not re-circulated but brought from the outside and passed through the house like a 'cool breeze' and then out the windows and doors of the home. As the running costs are low with evaporative cooling systems, zoning or switching off outlets is unnecessary and the cost of incorporating switchable zones is never recouped. The components of an evaporative cooling system that can cause problems and require maintenance are the drain valve, which drains the water from the system when it is not be used; and the winter seal, which prevents the draughts and heat loss from the home. In our experience the Brivis Contour addresses these problems better than all other brands and models

The Contour - this model features:

  • a sloping base on the unit so that it follows the contour of the roof and is thus more pleasing to the eye
  • 'fail safe' drain system
  • motorized winter seal
  • aqua save ability requiring less water change within the cooler and hence less overall water consumption

The Profiler - this model features:

  • sloping base on the unit so that it follows the contour of the roof and is thus more pleasing to the eye
  • 'fail safe' drain system
  • counter weighted winter seal

The Advanced or Traditional (Base) - this model features:

  • square box unit on the roof
  • plunger drain system
  • counter weighted winter seal

Note: the aqua save feature can be added to the Advanced model but not the Profiler

We only use silver sleeve fire rated ducting which is carefully sourced from 2 suppliers. There are a few differences in duct types and generally the industry will use either a wire cored duct with either a silver foil or plastic outer sleeve over the insulation. Silver sleeve is more expensive and longer lasting than plastic which perishes more quickly. In amongst the main different suppliers there are various different qualities of both types. You can be sure when we install your system you will have good quality duct and fittings. From an installation point of view it is always easier to work with higher quality materials so it benefits everybody. All units are installed using a traditional roof penetration using a metal dropper box and roof flashing cut to suit on the job. Easier methods are to use a prefabricated plastic moulded fitting which is easier and cheaper to install, but experience has taught us that the metal dropper gives less trouble in the long term. We can handle and do all sorts of jobs, from new installations, changeover units, adding or changing ducts and outlets, upgrades, improvements and designing systems We also have the experience to handle changeovers in place of older systems which are found in older homes.
